Ghazali
Once sitting in a local mosque in Karachi. A maulvi sb started discussing Imam Ghazali. He was reading directly from Unveiling of the Heart. Which contains plenty of after-life accounts. He read something about a Jew in Medina who recited the Kalima before his demise and died soon after. People saw him in the dream and he said because of the Testimony of Faith he went straight to Paradise.
A baloch was among us. He said how do you know what happened in the grave? maulvi said it says right here and showed him the reference. And he just got up and left in anger. In another masjid not so far away, a so called alim produced evidence from a Tafsir of praying Fajr when the Sun is almost out. Unheard, Unknown.
Just now on one of the forums someone asked about the Illeterate Sufis and I said it's the walk or the very personal journey that they do which enables them to carry the Sciences in and out of the Deen in their Warheads.
Ghazali was certainly the Greatest Sufi ever. Some do the walk at birth. Some do after graduation. Some are born with it. Some do the walk even before birth. He did it after graduation. Which is quite awesome.
