Kitab Kahani

There was a book keeper in almost every neighborhood in Karachi. But that doesn't mean they use to keep the kids around. A lot of the books were and are available such as the Kitab Kahani. Also, there use to be a Novel around of prolly Ashfaq Ahmed called Nasir ki Kahani, then the title was changed in to Dracula. But that was pre-existence Mars. Kitab Kahani was a picture story book, containing many folklore's from Pakistan.

A boy visits his cousins in a town in Punjab, but the scenery was pretty much like the Sind or elsewhere in Pak. He goes to the farms and get's lost, he sees an abandoned house and enters it. Upon entry he checks rooms around and finds an old woman sitting on a Takht. She didn't have arms or legs or may be that's how she appeared to him. She tells him a story of the town and how it was. Then moves to her once family and the finishing touch was the boy runs out of the house and opens his eyes on his bed with his supposedly mom looking after him. Year's later, he finds that everything around him including the people that he thought are his cousins and friends were actually the same old woman sitting on the bench in an abandoned house in some town. He starts his journey of finding the real World. And when he does, he finds out that he himself killed his Mom and Dad, long time ago and ran away from the house. The cousins took-over the cars, properties and bank accounts. And that was it.

Although, my experience is, the reason why there are so many Masjid's or religious centers around everywhere is because the houses don't get abandoned. I witnessed it in Medina-Baye. The houses that are far from the Mosques and the people who don't pray get things like that.

Although, when I was working as CSR in an American Company. I came across a call, that I couldn't forget for various reasons. Then working somewhere else, I came across a website of the people who were operating in I think Detroit, Michigan. Although. they were attached to the Christian Fraternity. But they had some dodgy Russian badging going around. I investigated the matter and left it alone. I thought, the neighborhood looks ghostly as it is. No need to poke my nose.

Even that time I knew they are putting children on drugs first and getting them arrested to put in the institutions in Michigan. Later, my boss told me there is a guy from the US, want's to sell stocks of his company and you should check him out. Came out to be they were the same people from Detroit. I don't know if the death of the female Jazz singer had anything to do with the Detroit town.

But anyway that's how I remembered the whole story.
